At the Northern and Eastern Counties Papillon Club Championship Show the Dog CC and BOB went to Rosemary Ayris' Ch Ibstock Marksman, whose breeding I have given previously. Bitch CC and RBIS went to Sue Morrell and Thesbina Teague's Serenglade Saffriesa for Temelora (Inixia Barnaby at Serenglade out of Serenglade Saffron at Lindendale) bred by Linda Greenslade. This was her third CC and thus gives her her title subject to KC confirmation. Reserves went to Serenglade Gold Sovereign in dogs (Denemore Treasure Chest at Inixia out of Snowlord La Bamba for Serenglade) owned by Dolly Kavanagh and again bred by Linda Greenslade, and in bitches to Philip Shirley's Cordonrouge Ciara JW (Glasafon Welsh Gold at Cordonrouge out of Cordonrouge Classic Minx). Best Puppy was Mrs M MacDonald's Fortglen Shadow Dancer (Ch & Ir Ch Ringlands Treasure Island x Longcrags Sassie Dannsa).
The ever popular Northern and Eastern Counties Calendar is now available and looks even better if possible than previous year's. Contact Queenie Bruce for your copy and I would suggest you don't leave it too late as I doubt they will take long to go.
Denise Welsh continues to fly the flag for the breed in agility, this time with her Graycaz Private Collection at Kazim taking a creditable third place recently in an inter club competition. Showing he has beauty as well as brains Private Collection the following day took BOB at East Kent Canine Society Open Show.
For Jeanette Mackay the Banff, Moray & Nairn Open Show must be one of her favourites. In taking BPIS recently with Jaylanjay Amanother she was repeating an earlier success of Amanother's sire, Avon Prince at Jaylanjay who himself had taken this award and who six months later followed that up with BIS at the society's next show. Amanother's win followed her success a little earlier where she was also BPIS at Perth. |

If anyone is interested I have the details of the results of the recent French Championship Show in Strasbourg and will be happy to e-mail them on. Some UK bred papillons took part, Mr and Mrs Stone's Ch Genevieves Flirtie Birtie in the 2.5 to 4.5 kg Male class took second with a grading of Excellent and also took the RCACS and in the same class Golygfamor Leighton Of Ringland bred by Amy Homes took an Excellent grading.as did Inixia Party On at Beautfly bred by Sue Stanbury. The results show other markings but as I am not too au fait with the French system I can't really say what they mean. |

Jo Davidson-Poston has told me that there is an eight yr old Papillon looking for a home in the Wood Green Animal Shelter in Godmanchester near Huntingdon. It seems to have been picked up as a stray. I have no other details of colour etc but does anyone know of an older dog gone missing? It would be good if he/she could be home for Christmas!
Carolyne Allward-Chebsey tells me that the Newsletter will be available at LKA from Doug and Shirley Colyer's Benches and asks that those who are there come and collect their copy. I will put in another reminder nearer the time.
Remember if you want a N&E Calendar contact Queenie Bruce and you can arrange to pick up your copy at LKA, her tel no is 01302 770847
Just received a Schedule for the Open Show of the Scottish Papillon club It is on 7th December at the Cochrane Hall Alva with Ricky McKay Judging. Entries close on 24th November.

The Christmas Issue of the Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club's Newsletter will shortly be available. Our Newsletter Editor has made arrangements for members attending LKA to be able to collect their copies there, they will be available from Shirley and Doug Colyer's bench, so if you are attending LKA please make sure you collect your copy and help save a little on postage costs (as well of course as being able to enjoy the issue sooner!!) Having had a preview of this issue I have to say Carolyne has surpassed even her own high standards, it really is a super publication. I was particularly impressed with the many fine illustrations throughout, some thanks to the artistic skills of some of our members and many which Carolyne has included through her computer skills. The appearance and layout is back to its normal high quality which I understand from Carolyne is due to the fact that she is able to use her usual computer friendly programme in the production. At the Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club Open Show Best Dog and BIS went to Ann Borg's recently crowned Ch Inixia So Be It For Elendil with Best Bitch, RBIS and BOS going to Carolyn and David Roe's Ch Sunshoo Imastar Lighter. Carolyne and David also took BP with Sunshoo Imascarlet Oscars. At the North of Scotland Toydog Open Show where there was a super entry of 62 Papillons BOB went to Jeanette MacKay's Jaylanjay Amastunner JW and Jeanette also took BP and Best Bitch with Jaylanjay Amanother who went on to take another BPIS award. With only LKA to come the final results for the year are almost to hand and it will be interesting to do a review of the year's results. Off hand it would seem that there have been quite a number of dogs and bitches taking CC's this year and perhaps some thought is required as to what this means as far as the state of the breed is concerned. |

Sue Terry judged the Papillon Club Open Show and her BD and BIS was Anne Borg & Sue Stanbury's Ch Inixia So Be It for Elendil. RBIS, BOS & BB was David & Caroline Roe's Ch Sunshoo Imastar Lighter, BPIS went to David and Caroline's PD Sunshoo Imascarlet Oscars. 6-11 JH was won by Rebecca Thompson and 12-16 by Charlotte McNamara. Sophie and Kieth Langdon attended the Eurodogshow in Kortrijk Belgium and were very successful. In the international handling Sophie came 5th on day one and 3rd on day 2 in the 12-18 age group to finish 4th overall in the junior finals Dad(Kieth) overcame his nerves to come 6th each day in the older age group. Clancy( Christea Crackling Crumpet) and Rosie(Christea Midnight Rose for Skyvana) both won reserve CAC and CACIB. Sophie's Border Collie Skyvana Buccaneer won the Youth Class but was too young to compete for tickets. Sophie has certainly celebrated her 16th Birthday in fine style! Jeanette MacKay had a wonderful day out at North of Scotland Toydog Show when under Breed Specialist Anne McDonald and out of an entry of 62, her Jaylanjay Amastunner won BD and BOB while her 11month old Puppy Jaylanjay Amanother having won Best Bitch and Best Papillon Puppy went on to win BPIS under Annette Oliver. Jeanette is thrilled at the continuing success of the Jaylanjays! I just received my N&E Calander and what a lovely edition it is , It will cheer me up every month of the year with the lovely photographs! |

Those of you attending LKA please remember to collect your copies of the Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club's Christmas Newsletter which will be available at Shirley and Doug Colyer's benches. A reminder that the Northern and Eastern Counties Papillon Club are holding a a KC Rules and Regulations Seminar on Sunday 4 January at Finningley Village Hall near Doncaster. It will be presented by Peter Taylor who I am pleased to say was at the recent Northern and Eastern Counties championship show and was looking so much better after his recent illness. The Seminar will commence at 9.30 a.m., tickets cost £12.50 and will include morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea. For more details contact Queenie Bruce on 01302 770847 Queenie's lovely phalene boy, Tijuana Melody Maker had a good day at the recent Spire Toydog Open Show where he took BOB with BP going to Queenie's Tijuana Georgio. 9 months old on the day Georgio went on to take BPIS, a super win at this very popular and well attended show. Sue Langdon writes to tell me that her husband Keith and daughter Sophie recently attended the Eurodog Show in Kortrijk, Belgium and had a very successful if tiring trip. Christea Crackling Crumpet at Skyvana and Christea Midnight Rose for Skyvana both won reserve C.A.C. and C.A.C.I.B.and their Borer Collie won the youth class and best youth in breed, unfortunately though was too young to compete for the tickets. As well as competing in the Breeds both Sophie and Keith took part in the International Handling, Sophie in the 12 -18 year old class and Keith in the slightly older age group!!! Both acquitted themselves extremely well, Sophie came 5th on day one and 3rd on day 2 to finish 4th overall in the junior finals and Keith took 6th place on both days. It was certainly a memorable trip for young Sophie who celebrated her 16th Birthday shortly after they returned home and for Keith who overcame his nerves to do so well in his first major handling competition. |
