First an apology, BPIS at the N&E Cos Open show was Sandra Austin and daughter's Janakia Highland Mist and not the Dog Puppy. Sorry Sandra!
I spent a wonderful day at EELKS Open show on Rowley Mile at Newmarket. A member of the C'Tee picked me up and brought me to the Show I did not arrive in time to see the Judging of Paps but most of the exhibitors came to the Sec'ys Office to see me and it was so good to talk to all my friends who were there. the weather was really hot and I did not feel able to walk round the show but watched BIS etc from outside the office. I feel so much better perhaps it will not be long before i can take part again. Shirley Collier and Sue Stanbury's Inixia Perfect Host for Shirando was BOB and B Puppy was Eileen Roberts and Daughter's Chriskadu Black Sapphire By Rayol

I have mentioned on several occasions before that the notes I send off are subject to Dog World editing them and it is Dog World's policy that wins at Open Shows are not reported in these notes unless such wins include awards in the Group or BIS competition. As far as Breed Club Open Shows are concerned Dog World will print the BIS winner but will not include RBIS, BOS or BP wins (although I believe they will make an exception if for example the BP was sired by or out of the BIS winner, or for example if BIS and RBIS were litter mates etc) Generally however such wins will not be reported. Whilst I do always include such wins in my notes when I send them off, I am always conscious of the fact that these will most likely be edited out. Now I know that is disappointing for the owners but it is something over which I simply have no control, so please don't assume I have, for whatever reason you imagine, withheld these reports !!!!. Please therefore if you have such wins and these are not reported don't get on to me but take the matter up with Dog World, if you can get them to change their ruling on Breed Club Open Show reports I will be only too pleased.
At Bournemouth Bitch CC and BOB went to Sue Morrell and Thesbina Teague's Serenglade Saffriesa for Temelora, bred by Linda Greenslade she is by Inixia Barnaby at Serenglade out of Serenglade Saffron at Lindendale. I beleive this may be her first CC although she has a couple of Reserve's to her credit. Dog CC went to Jo Davidson-Poston's Ibstock Bright Spark for Spinillons, his second and again he has a couple of Reserve CC's as well as I think 3 Green Stars. Bred by Rosemary Ayris he is by Ch Ibstock Mark of Distinction out of Daneview Dainty Blue Bonnet. Reserves went to Irene and Glenn Robb's Ch Kingshaven Principal Boy at Gleniren in dogs and in butches to Michelle Osborne's Bonifee Lady Penelope of Tykkydewas, bred of course by Josie and John Mann. Best Puppy was Sue Stanbury's Inixia Dream's Magic.
Helen Verity & Ian Moor have a new address which is 10 Meldon Way, Clayton Heights, Bradford, West Yorks, BD6 3WN telephone 01274 889101. Helen tells me that Macstrak Minuet JW has already settled in well having made a new friend with the frog in the garden!!! (which Helen hopes he does not think is his lunch)

At WKC Carolyn and David Roe did the double taking the dog CC and BOB with Ch Sunshoo Imacaptain Scarlet (Ringlands Erik The Red At Sunshoo out of Daneview Dainty Bizzie Bee At Sunshoo) and bitch CC with Ch Sunshoo Imastarlighter (Ch/Ir Ch Ringlands Treasure Island out of Ir Ch Sunshoo Imastarlett). Reserves went to Mary Whitehill's Amicae Rudi Bare ( Kingshaven Quazy Rythm out of Sunshoo Ima Paddington Bear For Graycaz) in dogs and Sue Morrell and Thesbina Teague's Serenglade Saffriesa for Temelora (Inixia Barnaby at Serenglade out of Serenglade Saffron at Lindendale) in bitches. Best Puppy was Miss S Langdon's Graycaz Pantson Fire (Graycaz Imafirestarter out of Geanzger Sofine Graycaz) I was very sorry to hear from Carolyn and David Roe that they had in fact just lost Ringlands Erik The Red At Sunshoo after a short illness, he was only nine years old. Erik, who had an extremely successful show career as a puppy and won a Reserve CC, proved to be an outstanding stud dog for them. He was the Papillon Club's Top Stud in 1999, 2000 and 2001, Top Sire Our dogs/Pedigree Masterfoods 1998, 1999 and Top Stud Pro Plan/Dog World 2001 and 2002. He sired 6 UK champions, litter brothers Ch Sunshoo Imascarlet Encore (Top Papillon in 2001) and Ch Sunshoo Imacaptain Scarlet (BIS Winner at Border Union last year), litter brothers Ch Sunshoo Imaknight Errant at Barallan and Ch Sunshoo Imaknight Crusader at Daneview, Ch Daneview George Gershwin and Ch Daneview Dainty Roxanne at Sunshoo. Amongst his other progeny were Sunshoo Imascarlet Erika At Gleniren (1 CC and Top Puppy 1999) and her litter sister Sunshoo Imascarlet Ribbon (1 CC and Runner Up Best Puppy 1999), Daneview Rythym and Blues (Res CC), Daneview Dainty Lucia (Top Puppy 1998 and 2 Res CC's), Marshlea Executive (JW and Res CC), Sunshoo Imacrimson Crusader (Res CC), Aust Ch Sunshoo Imared Alert and her litter brother Jap Ch Sunshoo Imared October. In the litter that produced Imaknight Errant at Barallan and Imaknight Crusader at Daneview a third litter brother, Norw Ch Sunshoo Imaknight Templar went on to be Top Stud All Breeds in Norway. Erik bred of course by Norma Staff was himself by Ringlands Heritage, who has produced so many winning dogs for Norma and Pat and others, out of Alcala Symphony at Ringlands. David and Carolyn says that they feel very privileged to have owned a dog like Erik, he was such a 'Great Papillon' and he has left behind a real legacy to carry on in his foot steps, people always knew by looking at progeny that this must be by Erik The Red. A special little dog who they will of course miss greatly. At the Brisbane Royal where there was an entry of 64 papillons, Bitch CC and BOB went to Sharon and Don Mahoney's Mondelise TM Opera a win which also gave Opera her Australian Title. Dog CC went to Aus Ch Dubalbow Fortune Cookie and Reserves to Aus Ch Syringa Little Bear in dogs and Aus Ch Sandrinas Kottens Pearl in bitches, Kottens Pearl taking Runner Up BOB. It was pleasant for Mark and I to meet up again with Chie and Hiroshi Yamakado (Art Etoile and Queen Bless Papillons from Japan) and Vesa Toivanen (Connections) and Sari Tappinen (Sabamores) from Finland. On a flying visit to the UK they managed to fit in a short stay with us and it was good to catch up on old times with Chie. It was particularly interesting to have the chance for a nice long chat with Vesa and get his views on the UK papillons after his visit to the Club Championship Show earlier this year (and more pleasing to hear some complimentary remarks from Vesa about the paps over here) Vesa of course is a well known and successful breeder/exhibitor in Finland as is Sari and Chie's Kennels are well known and successful throughout the world. Fortunately their English is far better than my Finnish or Japanese (!!!) which brings home how lazy we all are about learning other languages, but it seems dog people can communicate whatever the language. Over in Ireland at the Clonmel & DCC Ch Show BOB & GSD went to Denemore Treasure Icon, GSB to Denemore Rainbows Cameo, RGSD - Baladora Marked So Chic and RGSB - Cordonrouge Cameo. At the Killarney & DCC Ch Show BOB & GSD - Serenglade Gold Sovereign, GSB - Cordonrouge Ciara, RGSB - Cordonrouge Cameo |

At SKC Dog CC and BOB went to Irene and Glenn Robb's Ch Kingshaven Principal Boy at Gleniren. Bitch CC and Best Puppy was Jeanette MacKay's Jaylanjay Amanother with Reserves going to Dolly Kavanagh's Denemore Treasure Icon in dogs and in bitches to Carolyn and David Roe's Ch Sunshoo Imastar Lighter. The two CC winners breeding I have printed before, unfortunately I do not have details of the breeding of the two reserve CC winners, so if anyone can let me have it please e-mail me. More results from the Munster Circuit in Ireland. At Limerick Bitch Green star and BOB went to Philip Shirley's Cordonrouge Ciara J.W., Dog Green Star to Dolly Kavanagh's Serenglade Gold Sovereign, Res Dog Green Star to Killeen and King's Penang Golenleas Rougemist and Reserve Bitch Green Star to Langdon's Christea Midnight Rose for Skyvana. At Tralee Bitch Green Star and BOB was Cordonrouge Cameo, Dog Green Star Penang Golenleas Rougemist , Res Dog Green Star Nigel Thurman and Terry Justice's Lysandra's Zxar and Res Green Star Beck's Baladora Mark of Elegance. My apologies for giving only surnames in some cases but unfortunately that's how the information has come across to me. Caroline Lee Farnsworth tells me that Graycaz Ima Firestarter has gained his American title, in six shows he has taken 5 majors. He is sired by Ch Graycaz Green Is Envy out of Ch Graycaz Olivia and is owned by Lou Ann King. Caroline has been busy showing her new enterprise, a Soft Coated Wheaten Puppy and has had a good run with her recently as will no doubt be shown in the Soft Coated Wheaten notes. I am sorry to have to report that Chris Coffey is in Hospital with a broken leg, she has been moved from Bedford hospital to Nottingham and was due to have an operation on Thursday 28 August. We all wish her a speedy recovery. Alan & Denise Pearch (Alnessaden Papillons) are proud to announce the arrival of Zachary Richard, their second grandchild and first grandson born on Saturday 23rd at 01.26 weighing in at 7lb 7oz. Both mother and baby are doing fine. A correction to previous notes, in taking the CC at Bournemouth Sue Morrell and Thesbina Teague's Serenglade Saffriesa for Temelora now has 2 CC's to her credit (not 1 as I previously printed) in checking I missed her first CC which she won at Midland Counties last year. It is obviously very difficult keeping track of everyone's wins and knowing whether a papillon has won its first, second or third CC, the results which are published on line don't of course give these details either. So perhaps I could ask owners to let me know when they have success it should be easy enough just to drop me an e-mail or a quick telephone call. At the Tamworth and District Canine Society Open Show Chriskadu Black Sapphire by Rayol Owned by Eileen Smith and Carolyne Roberts and bred by Chris Pougher took Best Puppy in Breed and BOB and went on to take BPIS. |
