Best in Show - Choco - with Shirley Colyer and the judge, Jennifer Williamson

The Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club's 2nd Christmas Cracker Day was well attended by members and friends of the breed at Southam, Coventry on Saturday 4th December, and, from the comments received, a good time was had by all.  Prizes and presents were given to all who were there, with the dogs doing equally well getting their own prizes, some of which were kindly donated by the Judge, Miss Jennifer Williamson.

The biggest class of the day was the favourite 'find the sausage' which was run in heats until there were 5 winners — and oh how those Paps enjoyed their sausages!!

The Fancy Dress Class was won by 'Christmas Parcels' with 'Digit' and his handler wrapped up with Christmas Paper. The eventual winner of 'who the judge would like to take home' was won by 11½ year old 'Choco', owned by Shirley Colyer who went home with a large box of prizes.

The new class Musical Mats was well filled and it showed who the most obedient paps were on the day. It was noted that none of mine went in that class (though I must add, one bred by me but  doesn't live with me, got down to the last 3 without much  persuasion!).

Santa took time off from his busy schedule to pay us a visit to distribute presents to the Junior Handlers and the Christmas Crackers to everyone, with one lucky person, Dave Lee, winning the 'fiver'. The food tables were laden which was soon devoured with very little to clear up at the end.

Our thanks must go to many who gave donations to those who helped prior to and on the day, in particular, special thanks must go to Janet Chandler who organised the kitchen for us without having to be asked. Thank You Janet.

Thank you one and all, and to those members and friends who came, which made all the hard work worthwhile. Hope to see you all at next year’s event.
