South of England Papillon Club held their Open Show at Chievely. Philip Shirley sends news that everyone had a lovely day with the working committee giving their usual 110% to make the show run as smooth as clockwork.

Mrs Jenny Miller of the Feorlig kennel took on the task of judging our lovely breed with Mrs Pat Cox (Tricianbri) judging the Welfare and JHA classes.

The two principal winners of the show were Stewart & Stewart--Knight’s Fin CH Siljans Ragge JR Connection at Tussalud. I am sure Kay and Kirsten were delighted with their import taking the top place of BIS. BP Mann’s Sarasate Shboom over Melangel. Best Phalene in Show Morrell & Teaque’s Temelora Forest Nymph JW.
So well done to everyone that had a successful day.

Continuing on with SOEPC the Schedules are available for the Limited Agility Show on the 17th July at Bradfield. (restricted only to Papillons). Entries Close Monday 26th June 2010 (Postmark). Schedules will be sent to all who entered last year and anyone requiring a schedule or more information, please call Denise Welsh on: 01323-441583. Not after 9.00pm please. Or go to our website www.southpapclub.co.uk and download a schedule in the Diary of Events section.

The show is held in conjunction with the Club's Fun-Day, which always has a good turnout, and generates a lot of cash for the Club Welfare. There are fun classes, Heel Work To Music demos, Fancy dress competitions and much more, including a lovely all-in Buffet lunch. Free tea and coffee available all day. A flyer with this information will be sent out to members shortly, but as always everyone is welcome. Take a trip along you will have a fun packed social day.

Elish and Donal Neally had Champagne corks popping celebrating a new Champion in the household. At the Hibernian All Breed Championship Show Irish Champion Sonsirae Grace Be Mine at Carrigteen JCh CW09 CJW09 took her crown. She was bred by Mrs. Joan Kilpatrick of Sonsirae Papillons. What a proud moment, the Carrigteen prefix is 32 years young, with predominantly showing Pembroke Corgi's. After 17 years of exhibiting Papillons, Grace is their 1st champion, and it must have been fantastic that Joan was present at the show to see the fairytale come true. Well done what a special day for all concerned.

Eileen Roberts (Rayol) has now moved over to Ireland. By now probably playing re-arranging boxes. When you move it is one thing you get very good at. For the moment Eileen will be staying with Diane Mooney so please send all correspondence to: Cuilmore, Drummullin, Elphin, Co. Roscommon, Ireland. Eileen’s mobile number at the moment is: 07984947469 if you need to contact her. She will be getting an Irish package soon and I will keep you informed of the new number. Eileen would like to thanks everyone for their good luck cards and wishes all the Papillon exhibitors success at the summer shows.

Good luck Eileen. I hope the move will be everything you dream it to be but we will miss you not being at the UK Show so often.

So until the next DW breed notes put the coffee pot on and we will sit down for a read together.

Irene Robb
