The Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club held their Open Show with Mrs Kay Tidmarsh (Creliatown) taking on the task of judging. Looking very smart from the pictures seen and I am sure very excited for the events to unfold for the day ahead.

She found her BIS to be Jenny Scovell’s Frasermar Icicle at Caswell. BPIS went to Joe Magri’s and Kevin Arrowsmiths baby Rozamie Fleur de Lys. Best Phalene In Show went to Eileen Roberts and Miss Smith’s Ir CH Serenglade Flag Ship. Many congratulations to everyone else that picked up principal wins I am sure they all went home on cloud nine.

For the Welfare and Benevolent Fund classes and Junior Handling unfortunately Clare Chapman experienced a minor accident on the way to the show and had to return home. I am sure Clare was very disappointed with the prospect of not being able to judge. However I am sure another judging invitation opportunity will shortly come forth. In the mean time Miss R Thompson became the replacement judge.

For the Junior handling Rhianna Brooks won the 6-11yrs and Fran McWade the 12 – 16yrs. Fran taking the honour of being the best junior handler.

Lots of nice wins on the Open Show front have come through so well done everyone.

Well Crufts is looming up fast and furious, fingers crossed the snow is well and truly gone by then. Next week will be special notes. To be awarded the Crufts appointment is a goal that not many can aspire to and deserves the recognition it so deserves.

I will be taking you on a journey over the years of the Ibstock kennel who of course is our Crufts judge Rosemary Ayris. I am sure it will be of interesting reading especially for the newer exhibitors. It is always nice to learn of how a Top Kennel over the years paved their way to success not only in the show scene both in the UK and abroad but also their personal caring for the future of the breed.

So let’s meet up reading DW next week just before our Crufts day.
