Denise Welsh tells me entries are coming in well for the Limited Agility show of the South of England Papillon Club, which will be held in conjunction with the Club’s Fun-Day on the 17th July at Bradfield. I was sorry to hear of the passing of Alec Doig (Cadogan), Alec died peacefully, in hospital in Dundee, his funeral was held on June 9 at The Chapel of Rest, Arbroath, thereafter at the Western Cemetery, Arbroath. Our sympathies are with Alec’s family.

I hear Papillons are yet again second in the ring at Border Union, after last years performance where the BOB and owner Sue Victor had to make a hasty dash to the group that was already well under way, it really is not wise for a breed with major entries to be in this position. Sue suggested the Breed Council could write to Border Union to let them know we prefer to be first in. I really do think as a“ stud band E” breed we should be given conditions be-fitting our entries. Perhaps this info could be included to all societies when Judging lists are sent out each year from Breed Council, also could I dare suggest societies do not allocate a second breed to Papillon judges on the same day. While it appears our entries are on the decline right now, they do seem to go up and down, and certainly if they return to the 200 mark then we do not want to be 2nd in the ring.
