Show, Mrs Irene Robb judged the breed and found her principle winners in: DCC and BOB - ALFADL, LOYE, & MCKAY, Missess & BERG Mr M J Am Can Ch Arkeno's Ears To You, RDCC -DEMBINIOK Mr M & Mrs P Temelora Sun Dancer at Hollrexia JW Sh.CM, BCC - PHILLIPS Mr A Volpecula You're So Vain At Amicae, RBCC - Mrs K & STEWART-KNIGHT Miss K Denemore Story's Echo at Tussalud, Best Puppy - BANFIELD Mr R & Mrs J Kingshaven Allo Allo, Best Veteran - Mrs S & TEAGUE Mrs T Ch Serenglade Satanya For Temelora. Congratulations to all the winners and especially to Am Can Ch Arkeno's Ears To You, who won his third and crowning CC for his Championship title, I believe he was also short-listed in the Toy Group.

The Secretary of the Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club of Scotland, Mr Ted Whitehill would like to convey the following: “On behalf of the Officers and Committee of The Papillon (Butterfly) Dog Club of Scotland we would like to take this opportunity to thank all exhibitors and visitors for making the first show of our Golden Jubilee year such a great success. A special thank you to Ruth Johnston for the hours of work it took to produce the wonderful display in words and pictures of our clubs 50 year history. It was especially interesting to look back at our Junior handlers over the years and where they are now in their lives. Many of them now breeders and exhibitors of merit in their own right.The Club would also like to record its appreciation to: Miss Hazel Barr (Barallan) for Sashes to BIS, RBIS & BPIS, The members of the South of England Papillon Club for Champagne to BIS, RBIS & BPIS,John and Ann Cooper (Ancojo) for the Plaques donated to all class winners, Mrs Mary Fraser (Fraserdene) - £10 cash prize for Best Phalene in Show, Mrs Joyce Finlayson (Sharjoy) for the Lucky Ring number Prize, Mrs. Queenie. Bruce & Mrs. Amanda Bruce-Jackson (Tijuana) - £20 donation.To all who made our raffle table groan under the weight of prizes donated our grateful appreciation to everyone.Our judge Mrs Liz Anderson (Northlyte) who kindly gave a judges gift of towels beautifully embroidered with Papillon and Phalene heads to all class winners and the hand painted Agate's for our BIS, RBIS, BPIS & BVIS”

It certainly sounds like everyone had a wonderful day; I hear the atmosphere was particularly nice and friendly.

It sounds like Marian Sloan and Eilish Neally had a lovely time recently, Marian sent me a short note about her recent judging trip: “I have just returned from Norway, the Norsk Miniatyrhund Klubb [Toy dogs - Group 9 plus a few other toy breeds ] had 3 day back to back shows. The first day, Saturday, I judged Japanese Chin, Pekes and Tibetan Spaniels. The second day was my day of rest and I explored the fabulous grounds of our lovely hotel, and took a short walk down to the banks of the Oslo Fjord at Moss. On Monday the Norsk Papillon and Phalene Klubb had their Speciality show . I had a lovely entry of 65 Papillons and 14 Phalenes, Best puppy Papillon was Ringlands Special Text a very promising tricolour, BOB was Dk. Nord Ch Inkies Just A Gigolo and BOS was Nord Ch Chakmani's Haute Couture. In Phalenes, the Freetain's kennel has a clean sweep, Best puppy and BPIS was Freetain's Kickizana Theana, she was stunning, she had won Res BPIS , all breeds, on Saturday, under Eilish Neally. BOB and BIS at the speciality was Multi Ch Freetain's MY Oh My, and BOS the Junior Freetain's Kick Cafe Ritzoretto.The breeders team Freetain, won Best breeders at the speciality, then I had the pleasure of awarding them best breeders group in show , all breeds. After the breed judging they had the fun classes, best head, best ears, eyes, happiest dog, etc.,The people were so friendly, and very hospitable, I will have happy memories of my trip”.

I had a note from Brian Crawley, to say his wife, Louise, had a lovely result at the Chester City and County Canine Society Open Show at Stanney Oaks Leisure Centre, Ellesmere Port Initially being awarded first place in the Papillon Junior class with her 10 month old puppy Garbreisa Craiginnis. He then went on to take Best of Breed and Best Puppy of Breed and Group 4 in the Toy Group Puppy competition. Congratulations to Louise and also to: Sue Gray with her 6 month puppy, Gennasus On A Mission, (Elwood) who won RBPIS at a well attended Banff, Moray and Nairn Open Show at Lossiemouth. He has already won 1st at the Scottish Pap. Club Ch. Show in a big MP class and 3rd the following day at SKC.

I had a super day at the Royal Bath and West Show, the Taunton and Dist. CA had invited me to judge most of the Toys and the Group, Sophie Langdon judged a good entry of Papillons and her winners were: Best of Breed: ( Morrell and Teague) Temelora Just Magic JW ShCM , Reserve Best of Breed: (Morrell and Teague) Temelora Forest Nymph JW, Best Puppy in Breed: (Stanbury) Inixia Saucy Sarah. I awarded Temelora Passing Fancy (V Prince) Best AV Toy. Under Brian Aubrey (Jenabeck) - Inixia Saucy Sarah (Stanbury) won 4th in the Puppy stakes and ( Morrell and Teague) Temelora Just Magic JW ShCM won Toy Group 2.

I am pleased to hear that Debbie Burns has agreed to take on the position of co-ordinator for the Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club - Newsletter (in a non-committee capacity). Debbie is currently working on the Summer Issue, and would be most grateful for any news on the following: Breed related articles, Photos, Agility news, Foreign showing news,New Champions etc. Please also remember that the Newsletter is sent to Members worldwide ~ so is an ideal medium to showcase your dogs or send greetings to your friends, contact Debbie for the advertising rates.
