19 February 2010 - Our Dogs
Terry Thurman sent a glowing report of the Seminar organised by the Northern and Eastern Counties Papillon Club, Terry said “What a lovely day I have had, all I had to do was turn up and soak up the very well presented information, such a good atmosphere with mostly Papillon people who obviously care about the future of our breed”, there was also a “5 Star” lunch so a good time was had by all.
Denise Welsh had a good day in Agility at the Golden Cross Equestrian Centre; Merlin (Pipistrelle Merlin Magic at Kazim) won the Grade 1-7 agility and came fourth in the 1-7 Jumping. Jane Burton with her lovely little Papillon (sorry no name) got some good places in the starters agility/jumping classes and Kazim Private Pete did some nice work with his young handler Milly Jones (14 yrs) to get two clear rounds also in the starter classes. Well done to all you Agility bods, do look out for the South of England Papillon Club’s Limited Agility Show schedule which will be out shortly or can be found on www.agilitynet.com .The Club always hold the show, which is now a regular fixture in the Agility calendar, in conjunction with their Fun-Day which is on 17th July at Bradfield, make a note of the date as it is a super day out and a good chunk of the proceeds always go to Papillon Welfare.
Only a couple of Open show results this week: at Cumberland CA, the judge was Mr J Horswell (Drakesleat), he found his Best of Breed in Urwin's Ch Paparottsie Painted Lady Sh CM who went on to win Toy Group 2, and Best Puppy in Atkin's Papplewick Pinball Wizard to Vlinder who went on to win the Toy Puppy Group.
At Darlington and Dist. CS the judge was Mrs M Hughs (Sachiko) who found her BOB in Shevid Uptown Girl and Best Puppy in Atkins Papplewick Pinball Wizard To Vlinder, who went on to win Toy Puppy Group 2, congratulations to all the winners this week.
Latest news from DFS Crufts is that Papillons will have an early start of judging at 8.30 am…….its going to be a long day, for £95 you can join the “Patrons Club” and get all sorts of goodies throughout the day, I shall be taking my own sandwiches as usual and trying to reserve the DFS sofa nearest to the judging table.
