There were lots of Papillon featured in the YKC members juniors handling, including in the 6-11 age group: Caragh McGrath 1st and Rhianna Brooks VHC, in the 17-24 group Kirsty Miller won. In the JHA competition there were three Papillon handlers placed in the first five: 1st: Caragh McGrath , 3rd: Rhianna Brooks – Papillion, Res: Josh Howarth. In the Champion stakes, Ch Gleniren Starlight Kisses came a very creditable 2nd to the top winning Maltese. I think I indentified a sprinkling of Papillon in the any variety Obedience classes too. Please do let me have you wins and placing in these large stake classes as they often go unreported.

Nigel and Julie Cook’s Bedellus Jive Dancing to Julandia (bred by P Beadle) took his final points here to gain his Junior Warrant.

Very well done to all the winners this week. And a special mention and congratulations goes to Louise Crawley’s Garbreisa Periwinkle ShCM , who Louise is retiring from general showing as he is now a Veteran. He has accumulated a grand total of 50 points at Open shows which would give him a ShCM twice over. Louise would like to thank all the judges who thought so highly of him.

Just a reminder that the Open show of the South of England Papillon Club will close soon, as always the Prize money for this show is in excess of £300. Mrs J Miller will judge the Breed classes and Mrs P Cox the JHA and Welfare Classes. The show is at Chieveley on the 15th May and as always we are keeping fingers crossed to hold the event outdoors, so far only once we have managed to do that, please lets have some sun this year. As usual excellent food will be available and free Tea and Coffee all day. For a schedule, contact Show manager Mr N Cook – 01634 241073

Could I also remind all previous winners, please to search though their trophies for any awarded at the Clubs Open show as these should be returned, either to the show or to Cup Steward - Mr A Pearch 01372 745025 prior to the show. Also all the winners of the Perpetual Shields won at the Championship Show are reminded to have their dogs names engraved on one of the embellishments with the date 2009 and please make sure these are also returned to Alan. in plenty of time for the Championship Show on August 1st .- many thanks.
